Synopsis:

It’s bad when the girls go missing.

It’s worse when the girls are found.

Six months ago, Charlotte almost lost everything. Now, she’s determined to keep her daughter, Elle, safe. So when local girls close to Elle in age and appearance begin to go missing, it’s her worst nightmare.

Charlotte’s fears are confirmed when a frantic search becomes a shocking murder investigation. The girls’ bodies have been found – half-buried, and with traces of mud and wildflowers under their fingernails.

As Charlotte’s obsession with keeping her daughter close pushes her marriage to the brink, local DI Madeleine Wood embarks on a gruelling search for the killer. And, as they dig deeper into the lives of the people they call friends and neighbours, they uncover secrets more terrible than they ever imagined…

Pretty Little Things is the nail-bitingly terrifying new serial killer thriller from TME Walsh – the perfect read for fans of Close to HomeBehind Her Eyes and The Child

My Review:

T.M. E. Walsh is a new author to me. I have read a lot of serial killer books, but T.M.E. managed to scare me more than any other author has so far! She really gets into the mind of the killer and, let me tell you, the serial killer in Pretty Little Things is by far one of the most unhinged and unpredictable serial killers I’ve ever read about!

“This is my garden, they are my seeds. Pretty things might grow here, even after they’ve gone, and join the sea of reds and pinks that are here already.”

“OK, yes, stupidly, I’ll admit, I’d left the bodies of the others intact…well, relatively anyway (☺). I mean, I think it was Katie that ended up missing an arm. I think you should know, that wasn’t my fault.”

“Fear of me should be alive among the whole community. My name on their lips, my crimes playing out inside their heads, a living nightmare, like I’m the bogeyman come to run away with their daughters.”

These are just a few quotes from Pretty Little things to show you how deranged the serial killer is.

Pretty Little Things is fast-paced and keeps you second guessing everything! I literally played out different scenarios in my head, trying to figure out who the killer was, but I was WAY off! I COULD NOT believe what I was reading towards the end! The killer totally shocked and surprised me! I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll leave it at that!

If you love serial killer thrillers, I would highly suggest Pretty Little Things!
