Author Bio
An English teacher, an author, and a fan of anything pink
and/or glittery, Lindsay’s the English teacher cliché; she loves cats, reading,
Shakespeare, and Poe.
She currently lives in her hometown with her husband, Chad (her junior high
sweetheart); their cats, Arya, Amelia, Alice, Marjorie, and Bob; and their
mastiff, Henry.Lindsay’s goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of
life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers
have noted that her books are not the “typical romance.” With her novels coming
from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the
tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look
at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and
powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, “I see myself in that
novel.” She wants to speak to the modern woman’s experience while also bringing
a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, “That
could happen,” or “I feel like the characters are real.” That’s how she knows
she’s done her job.Lindsay’s hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of
her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants
them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isn’t out of
the realm of possibility.

My Rating: 5 Stars!
First off, congrats Lindsay Detwiler on this beautiful book! Lindsay is another new author I have discovered and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books soon! I’m a sucker for a beautiful romance story and she seems to have plenty of those. I’m definitely a fan now!
In Lindsay’s bio, it says she is known for realism in her writing. I found this very refreshing. I felt such a connection to Marley, because I also have issues with opening up to love. I don’t like to expose myself to the possibility of getting hurt. I have had a lot of hard times and I come with baggage too, so I understood why she felt like she did.
My heart broke for Marley when she thought she wasn’t good enough for Alex. Marley and Alex are from two different worlds. Marley has been held back by the tragedies that have occurred in her life and she thinks less of herself because of it. Can Alex convince her that she is more than good enough for him? Can Marley also help Alex discover more about himself?
Marley and Alex are two Amazing people. I enjoyed reading this beautiful story. I don’t typically read books twice, but I can see myself reading this again at some point. All of You gave me hope that maybe there is a chance that I will meet someone like Alex one day. Someone that can be my rock and I can also be his. I would definitely recommend this book!

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100 certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Kudos

    1. Surprisingly, my blog itself didn’t cost anything other than the $6 that I paid for my logo to be made on Etsy! You can start your blog off for free by using and using their free templates to start out, but I would recommend going ahead and purchasing your domain and self-hosting your blog. I just recently made the switch from to and I had to completely redesign my site because WordPress wouldn’t let me transfer my theme when I decided to self-host. It can get a little confusing, but I would highly recommend Siteground for your hosting. They are so helpful & will walk you through the process. I have an article that I just recently wrote about my switch. Here is the link!
I hope this info helps some!

  2. Heya are using WordPress for your site platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and create my own. Do you need any coding knowledge to make your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. I use for my blog and Siteground for my hosting. I use the free wordpress template called whitish lite. I don’t know anything about coding really. When I used the whitish lite theme, I made several customizations and used widgets. Once you get in there and play around with it, you will learn so much more!
      I hope this info helps!
